    Yeouido Cherry Blossom Viewing

My spouse and I recently visited Yeouido to see the cherry blossoms. Yeouido is a hub for the financial industry in Korea and is also home to the National Assembly of South Korea. A tip for those planning to visit is to head towards the back of the National Assembly rather than going directly to the well-known cherry blossom spots. The reason is that, during the cherry blossom festival, vehicle access is restricted, allowing pedestrians to walk freely on the roads. This makes it much more comfortable to walk around as the crowd density is lower compared to more popular locations. Having heard that the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, we quickly got ready and set off for Yeouido. And that was the cherry blossom path we arrived at.

    Cherry Blossom Viewing Tips

The Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival is held from the end of March to the beginning of April, but the exact dates are announced in mid-March. As the blossoms do not last long, the festival typically lasts about a week. If you want to know the specific dates, I recommend using the link provided below to search. For example, searching for cherry blossoms will give you information about cherry blossom festivals happening all over Seoul, including the one in Yeouido, of course.

The link mentioned above is to the official website operated by the Seoul government. Besides this, there is a wealth of information available, so please make diverse use of it.

    Lotte World Skating

This is the Lotte World ice rink in Jamsil, Seoul, South Korea. On this Christmas Eve, I went ice skating with my wife. If you come to Korea, I recommend stopping by here to skate and experience Lotte World Adventure (rides, parades, etc.). The second floor behind what you see in the picture is the adventure interior. The atmosphere is very exciting and fun as it is both indoors and outdoors. Although it is smaller than Disneyland or Universal Studios, it is well-organized. I haven’t been to Disneyland and Universal Studios, but I know they are amazing. I want to go there someday.

    Work in Gangnam

I’m on my way to work in Gangnam this morning. The sky is gloomy. Spring has arrived, and the weather has warmed up considerably, but the shade remains cool.

This is an alleyway in Gangnam.

For lunch today, I had Sundae-guk, a Korean dish. Originally, its color is white, but it was made savory by using salty fermented shrimp sauce, which includes perilla seeds, salt, and very small shrimps.

After a delicious lunch, I’m on my way back to the office. There was sunlight, so I took a photo.
